VIP Boxing Promotions* TAKING BOXING FORWARD *Since their first show in April 1996 VIP have grown into the leading independent Boxing Promoters in Manchester. As well as maintaining a high quality on their own shows they have developed a good working relationship with all the major TV promoters. Originally they worked exclusively with Frank Maloney who led Panix Promotions and co promoted both Sky and Eurosport dates with them. Since Frank Maloney moved to Sportsnetwork, VIP have opened up the horizons and now work with all the big players including Barry Hearn , Mick Hennessy and Frank Warren. Due to this success promoter Stephen Wood opted to take out a managers license from the British Boxing Board of Control and over the years has helped develop the careers of many a talented fighter - see VIP boxers columns. 14TH September at Wigan This show will be topped by Alex Matvienko who will challenge Lee Edwards for the vacant light-middleweight British Master title, chief support is Martin Murray and under card will include Carl Dilcs , Jack Arnfield , Chris Johnson , Scott Mitchell and Rick Goddins .
28th September at Colne Local Stuart McFadyen will top the bill in the lovely settings of the municipal theatre which has developed into a very popular boxing venue for VIP , under card includes popular locals Shaun Horsfall , Chris O’Brian , Tyrone Nurse and Alistair Morrison.
22nd November at Blackpool Tower After packing this venue out with 4 weeks to go last February we are delighted to be back there again . The card has yet to be finalised but will include Blackpools Brian Rose and Jack Arnfield. Tickets available on www.ticketmaster.co.uk
VIP Promotions today announced an exclusive agreement with the TV channel - owned by the Guardian group that print the Manchester Evening Newspaper – to show their promotions . The shows will be delayed and will also show footage of the boxers in training , working , eating and other general details on the lads including hobbies. Not only will this create good publicity for the boxers it will give them the chance to get used to the media attention that will come their way when topping bills on big shows ,which is sure to happen for a few of the lads !!! . The channel is now not only available in Manchester , but can be seen on SKY channel 203 - Dates and times of shows to follow .....
